Your adventure starts from our house, 1117 Oparure road, Te Kuiti. The 1117 is a "rapid number" which is derived from the distance the house is from the start of the road. We are 11.17km from the intersection of Oparure road and State Highway 3, not the 1117th house down the road!
Just zero your trip meter when you turn off 3, slow down after 11km and start looking for the "treeship" on the left! If you come from Waitomo Caves via Fullerton road, we are about 8km from the intersection of Fullerton and Oparure roads.
The number is on the paddock gate next to the drive.

Waitomo Caves road and Oparure road are good tarsealed roads. Fullerton road is also tarsealed but narrower and quite winding. TumuTumu road is unsealed (loose stone chip surface), very narrow and very winding, certainly an adventurous route and quite scenic but probably best avoided!
